I am currently Reading, The Lost Symbol, by Dan Brown. As a Freemason I felt I ought to read it to know what all the hype is about, and now only half way through it I am dying to know if there are any other Brothers that have or are reading it and what they think of it.

I've never mastered poetry that rhymes, when done well it attracts my mind and lends rhythm to the work, especially when recited. I have worked since my early youth (perhaps 14 or so) at expressing my thoughts in free verse or running prose, intended to evoke rhythms not dependent upon rhyme. This piece began in my 18th year and I carried it around with me modifying it slightly and reverting back to the original form for several years.

Hello all,

I am not to ashamed to say that when it comes to classifying a pipe or blend of tobacco i am fairly ignorant.

I was wondering if their were any decent books that will explain the classification of pipes and tobacco's, sort of an encyclopedia if you will.

If you know of any worth checking out please let me know.

One Second After by William R Forstchen is probably the scariest book you will ever read. It is in the military and and historical science fiction genre and deals with a topic that we can see reflected in today's headlines.

It is well written and researched and very nearly impossible to put down.

I highly recommend it, but warn you that it truly is scary as .... well you know.

I have enjoyed reading John Steinbeck since I was a teen.

I got "The Ultimate Pipe Book" when I took up the pipe and at the time found it very enjoyable and interesting.

I notice, however thst there's a lot of negative comments about him in some Amazon.Com reviews. Saying that a lot of what he says in nonsense etc.

So what do the people of BoB think? are any of his other books worth having (for any reason other than them being basically the only thing out there.)

Speaking of U. S. Grant during a staff conference: "He sat and smoked his long-stem meerschaum, appearing to get considerable satisfaction from it, and that was all."

Neat Tobacco/Pipe Smoking Book

The book involved time travel back to NYC in the late 1800 s when many of the great buildings were new. The book was as much a story about NYC as anything else. Twenty five years later a sequel was put out . This was maybe 5 years ago. Ring a ...
