This is a little more in depth than the thread title makes it seem.

What is your favorite mass-distributed beer?

What is your favorite beer?

What is your favorite style of beer?

Also, do you guys know where you can find local beers that are shipped nationwide, for instance, if a micro-brew in North Carolina only distributes in the southeast, is there a place to get it in the northwest? That may be a little extreme, but I think you can catch my drift.

for years, my favorite bourbon was Maker's Mark. It is still my "go-to" or more frequent bourbon.

A couple of years ago, a couple of friends joined me in bourbon tasting. While lots of fun, we approached it pretty seriously. Surprisingly, there was amazing congruence in ranking the blends. The results -

1. Booker's (94) - But I usually add a couple of splashes as it is very potent (126 proof).

2. Baker's (92) - Probably what I'd drink most if I was a rich man. ...

Hey guys,

I was wondering about where your favorite place was to have a drink? Apart from the obvious "on my front porch", "favorite chair with the game on". I'm wondering if you guys/gals appreciate a drink in a club, Irish bar, dive bar, country western, live music venue, etc?

Do you go there for the service?

The prices?

The music?

The people?

The Golden Boy

Pro football in the 1950s and ‘60s was dominated by three teams: the Cleveland Browns, the Baltimore Colts, and the Green Bay Packers. Within those august ranks a select handful of individual players—household names and Hall of Famers all—stood above the rest. We’re talking about men like Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Jim Brown and, most importantly for our purposes, “The Golden Boy” Paul Hornung.

Paul Hornung was born in Louisville, KY, in 1935. His parents divorced when ...

Place an orange slice and maraschino cherry in the bottom of glass along with spoonful of juice from the cherry jar and a splash of sugar (I leave the sugar out of mine most of the time). Mash it together with a muddler for a bit.

Add sour mix halfway, but for sour mix we take a can of frozen lemonade and use 1/2 the water it says.

Add whiskey to fill glass. Add some ice cubes and stir it around. ...

Ah, beautiful day and stuck inside working , but tomorrow is the Hickory Hops Festival in beautiful downtown Hickory, NC from 1 to 7. This will be my third visit and I am really looking forward to it, basically a bunch of breweries there and all you can drink for $30 or $35 . I've missed a few due to conflicts with the TAPS pipe show, but this year they are on different weekends! Anyone in the area should make it out for this, it really is a good time and the weather is going to be perfect. ...

All I wanted and want is the brilliant, diamond, singularity of an arctic cold that is and simply is…and nothing more.

Does anyone else drink this? It's brewed in Shiner, TX which is about 8 hours away from here (but still in Texas - yes it's that big, and yes that's what she said).

It's probably my favorite, or at least one of my favorite beers. When I first started drinking it back in 1996 it was kinda hard to find. It was sort of a microbrew back then. Now it seems everywhere you go they have Shiner on tap. So I'm just curious if other parts of the nation have Shiner or if it's still kind of a Texas ...

I'm coming down with the proverbial "flulike symptoms" and I mixed up my favorite remedy for the occasion:

2+ oz. bourbon or rye [rye today because it was handy]

Juice of 1/4 lemon

1 heaping Tbsp. honey

Mix in coffee mug and top with hot water

One of these and you feel a good deal better. Two or more, and if you're awake, you sure don't remember you were sick.

What do you gents pour from the "other medicine chest" when you're feeling sick?

One of the clerks I knew, raved about it and encouraged me to try it. The 12 pack contains 4 export lager, 4 pale ale and 4 weissier (wheat). I enjoyed them, but it's specialty beer, IMHO, for special occasions.
