I have a few pipes already, but all have been well thought out purchases based primarily on function.

Last night though I found myself unable to resist this egg shaped sitter...

What have I started?

briar indeed - the grain was one of the things that drew me - I imagine if it matched on both sides the price would have been quite a bit higher - I am glad it is as it is though - nice variety

I think you'll find that pipe smokes very well. I have a few Grandis, and they are not a "high grade", but damn they smoke good. Great purchase.

Now the tough part - figuring out which tobacco to stuff in it... I think I will break it in with GL Pease, but which one?

Haddo's perhaps...

What's good for larger bowls?

Unless I'm dedicating the pipe to Vas or Vapers I always break em in with Frog Morton.

Funny - just tried Frog Morton for the first time this morning - loved it and bought 4x 100g tins about an hour ago

picked up 2x 100g of each other Frog blend as well on the off chance they might be as good Smile

since then two people have recommended it to me Smile

Ok, not sure it will do much good though...

Dear Mrs. TommyTree,

Your husband has started to spend his money wisely.

Smile

Just make sure to never tell her how many pounds of tobacco you would really like to have, or how many pipes would fully satisfy your pad Smile
