| Just posted the following review on TR. Reproduced here for your edification.Dunhill Elizabethan MixtureMedium cut pale brown, dark tan, and dark chocolate to nearly black ribbons of varying length. In the tin, it offers aromas of fermenting fruit, wood, and spice. Tinned dense and moderately moist, after a bit of drying time the ribbons pack and take to the match with ease. Soft with a silky mouthfeel, Elizabethan Mixture is comprised of a core of delicate Virginias married with Perique. Quite mild, it offers subtle citric and woody notes along with a light peppery spice. Not of a sweet sort, the Virginias are anything but rich and it can take a bit of work to coax an appreciable amount of flavor from the blend. A Perique high note is appreciable throughout the bowl, although a fishy note emerges now and again. On the light side of medium bodied, the finish is short and airy. The sample on which this review is based came in the form of a 50g. tin produced by the now defunct Murray’s around 2002 or thereabouts, and this reviewer sees little reason to seek out more elusive tins of this rather bland and boring mixture. Perhaps this was a bad tin, but there seems very little reason to risk it again given the relative abundance of proven winners in the same genre, of which there are many produced on both sides of the pond. |

| Sometimes I think a discontinued blend achieves a distinction in death that it never had in life.Much like some evil bastards who become Saints after death.Maybe there was a reason they stopped making the blend,it just wasn't that good. Spot on, it seems, in this case. Very good point indeed. The tin art sure is pretty though ... |

| I can remember smoking that blend 10-15 years ago without any great impressions and then revisiting it about 5 years ago and finding nothing special for my taste. I've got to thank those of you that contribute reviews of the different blends to Tobacco Reviews.com.When I'm about to try something new, or considering a purchase,I always want to know what others whom I consider to have a keen pallete have to say about it. | I haven't tried Elizabethan, but from all the negative reviews I've heard, I doubt I would buy a tin even if Dunhill's blends become available again (please let them come back, please let them come back lol). The thought of a bland tobacco that tastes fishy at times sounds just wrong to me... |

| I liked it. The only Dunhill that I ever did like, as a matter of fact. I can't get my head around any of the others. Alluringly spicey and sweet, it was strong enough that a big bowl would make me wobbly, which is a negative for me. But I did like the taste. |

| I smoked many tins of this in the late nineties, never really liked it. once i tried other perique blends, never bought another tin, though i heard that if you bought a tin of the hand blended from the dunhill store in london, it was much better, but who knows. _________________ MMMMMMMMMM.........Perique!

| I have never tried this blend. But I do have some Murray tins stashed back. I like several of the dunhill blends 965,EMP. Night Cap, SM Mild and SM Med. Guess I will hold on to them for a while and see how high they start to go on ebay. _________________ Eggman

| I find it to be just plain weak! What is most shocking to me is the price Murray's made tins of this crapola are going for. Yesterday I saw one on e-bay that was bid up to $46.00! I have three old 50 gramers that I'd love to sell or trade. Any takers? I'll be a real sport and offer all three for $120.00 and will even include shipping! _________________ There once was a young piper from Boston Who became alarmed by tobaccos high cost-in So he filled up his cellar, with tobacco that feller Now forever in his basement he is lost-in
