I stopped by my B&M yesterday to see if they had purchased anything new. When I walked in the door I was greeted by a very energetic almost ADD person whom I quickly guessed was the owner, who was training a new manager as the last one left for greener pastures. When I asked if any new pipe tobacco had been had, and it was obvious it hadn't (all they sell currently is bulk, and most of the jars were empty). The owner began saying something along the lines like he had to throw money all over the store and hadn't made it to the pipes. The main sell is cigars and $$$ wine btw with a wine bar next door. But then he began saying if I knew what I wanted he would order it, opened up a box pulled out a supplier catalog opened it up, handed me a pen and asked me to mark anything that I would be inclined to purchase After nearly marking up the whole tinned tobacco section I gave the book back to the new manager and replied, "If I came in the store and saw any of these on the shelf I would buy them." I then thanked them and head home. Now if they order 1/2 of what i selected it will be a good day

Cool. Of course this means that the next time you go back you had better be prepared to purchase a boatload of baccy...wouldn't want to dissapoint the owner if he goes and orders a bunch of stuff based on your recommendations.

I'll be honest I would rather buy from him. His prices are higher than on-line but I have no shipping and instant gratification which for me wins everytime. My last on-line order wont be here until Tuesday and I ordered it last Friday. Prices were great and shipping was low though. I would rather have it now The old manager was telling me he didn't want to order anymore tins because no one was buying them I have been buying cigars from him for a while and made the move to pipes. I haven't stepped into his humidors in a 6 months, but I have eyballed his pipe goods often as well as purchased some of his bulk tobaccos. So I really hope he will stock some tins. I'd like part-time but w/ my wife's schedule that wont happen unless I work some magic
