PostSubject: Vintage Reliance Occupied Japan Table Lighter   Tue Oct 05, 2010 7:27 am

I was just gifted one of these old table lighters.

While it looks like it should work just fine once I fill it with fuel and replace the flint, does anyone know how I can change the wick? It may light as is but the wick is pretty much toast. I would think I could replace it with a zippo wick but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access the wick feed.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of table lighter?

Lou

I have a small ceramic table lighter, and the wick and holder just slide right out--they're not threaded or anything. I used a zippo wick and it was fine. If you can't access the wick at all, maybe just pull out the old with pliers and jimmy the new one back into place?
