| I have working my way through a tin on the Deluxe Navy Rolls over the holidays. I like it more and more as I go on. They are very similar, almost identical in fact. Escudo might be slightly fuller, but not by much. I like the sweetness the Dunhill and the Perique seems more subdued. I know there have been plenty of posts on this but it´s the first time I´ve tried the Dunhill and wanted to make mention of it. What do y´all think? |

| Here's a pretty in depth look at the two.

I agree with the author. It wouldn't be the first time the same tobacco was sold under two different brand names. |

| Very interesting article. Some years back (perhaps '97 or '98) I tried both blends side by side. I found Escudo to be sweeter and more to my liking. They were also visually distinct. I then decided to stock up on Escudo (my favorite VaPer blend) and never smoked the Rolls again. I still have a good stock of '98 and '99 Escudo (there was a scare just about then that it was going out of production). Perhaps it is time to try again... By the way, the Navy Rolls were then unavailable in the US, but I used to get tons of it during my trips to Europe. Made a lot of money out of it, which helped me subsidize the stash of Escudo. |

| Once some of my taste came back it's hard to tell the difference! I like both and so far not enough smoked to say which I like best and of course more of my taste need to return.

| I've tried 2 bowls of the most recent Escudo, and I've had a few more of Dunhill's Deluxe Navy Rolls. To me, the Escudo was more heavily topped, to the point I couldn't smoke it anymore. The Dunhill DNR were much more natural tasting. |
