| I'm in San Francisco for the week-end with no car but a three-day muni pass.
Anyone know of a place I should visit for pipes? |

| I am green with envy my friend. San Francisco is my favorite city to visit. Check out Grant's Tobacconist. It's at 562 Market St. If you're into hats at all you could check out one of the Goorin Bros shops. Good quality hats if you look past the Ed Hardy-esque ball caps. 3 locations, 1612 Stockton, 111 Geary, 1269 Howard. If you're in the market for a tattoo I recommend Idle Hands at 575 Haight St. Ask for Aaron Hope this helps, have fun! edit: oh yeah, my avatar is me in san fran! |

| What's funny is I was walking on haight street buying some things for my kids and I ended up in front of Goorim Brothers hats! I went in and told the guy about your post and me coincidentally finding it and he said a few days ago he told someone they were having a party at the store and the guy asked him if it was going to be a party with hats and pipes. How 'bout that?
Anyway, it's a real nice shop but I just couldn't decide which hat to get so I got none. |

| So here's the deal. I only found two pipe shops in SF. Grant's on Market is really good. Brand name pipes to buy and very good blends of tobacco. I'm going back this morning to get more of their Emperor Norton - Virginias, Turkish and Latakia. I can't stop smoking the stuff.
Another one is called the Humidor. I went to two locations. The one in the Financial District has a few "generic italian pipes" as the guy working there said. Not that he said that much because something on his phone was much more interesting to him than me. So I left. The next day I ended up in the Marina district so I thought I would try that one out. If you are in the market for a small glass tobacco pipe or a large blue acrylic water pipe to enjoy your Frog Morton in, I guess this would be the place for you.
Bottom line, if you are in SF the place to go is Grant's.
Had a great time as well. |

Grant's it is then! The other two sound like they'd fit right in in L.A. |
