PostSubject: The Real Actual BoB Bombers Thread   Fri Mar 30, 2012 11:36 am

New BoB Activity - Monthly Member Bombing

What I'd like to do is institute a Semi-Official Monthly BoB Bombing...and I have a potential target for the first bombing run picked out. Later targets will be selected by any reasonable method of which I approve (Likely with a high priority given to those on the list of guys who have bombed someone, as a list will be kept by the Bombardier, that's me).

1) Any and all bros that want to take part, PM me.
2) I think it would be fun if everyone mailed on or about the same date. But we'll see.
3) Items to be sent can be anything from serious tobacco selections to totally minimal fun items - so existing stashes or something with a really minimal cost outlay could be potential resources...
4) I'm looking for no or extremely low cash outlay to occur for those wanting to send something...up to you.
5) PM me if you're interested...along with your mailing address...and we'll see how things go.

I'll look at ending the name taking after a week (Last day to sign up for Round One is Friday, April 6th), to give everyone a chance if they want to join in.

Comments generated during the set-up phase:

The whole POINT is that we set it up so that NO CASH need be used - ANYHTING can be sent. I'm trying very hard to make this a potential activity for bros who are totally strapped. Send a box a matches...if it's legal? Whatever!!!

NO ONE will know who sends what except the bombee. It will not be blind to them of course, but I'll ask that when all the goods are recieved that a 'group photo' or something like that of the loot be posted. But there will be no publication by the recipient or anyone else as to who sends what.

I would think that if a guy was sending someone some books of matches or coasters or if they go down to the local thrift store and found some funky ashtrays or something...that there would be some 'thought' involved. You know, like it would represent the city or area they lived in (I've always wanted a few Red Sox coasters!)...of if they went to the recipient's data or searched back through posts, etc. and found what kind of blend they liked or wanted to try but never had and remembered they had some in their stash and sent some along (like I've always wanted to try Oulette's new VA blends)...maybe a Pint Ale glass from your favorite 'joint' - you know...that kind of thing. You know...the things that are around you and that you think are mundane and everyday, are totally cool and unique to someone from WAY out of town!

How will the bombee know when the bombers are finished for a photo of their stuff? Just kind of realize they're being attacked and get as much stuff as possible, maybe add the stragglers later?

Good question. For those of you that are 'challenged'...since we ALL will be mailing out by a specific date...we can just set an 'end date' upon which we will assume that all items have been recieved.

Note: Those of you that have signed up might as well start thinking about and getting together any and all items you intend to send.

At this point I'm thinking of making these the general dates of interest:

1st of the Month: Set up, new name taking, answering inane questions, etc.

At the end of the 1st week: New names closed, target announced.

At end of 2nd week of the 15th of the month: Mailing Date...all bombs dropped together.

Last day of the month: Photo of 'the goods' posted on Bomb Site.

There! I think that all seems workable.

SPECIAL NOTE: The last three signing up neglected to provide their name and address for the 'participant roster'. Please, if you intend to sign up, add that information so I don't have to reply with a request. Thanks.

Additional note: We are now at a participant level of 17!!!

As we add to these fine bombing threads, I might suggest dating them the-month-of, etc, so we can start fresh each time, and look back fondly at the mad-capped hijinks we created. Twisted Evil

Wow! Real combat footage...taken from the famous Memphis Belle! A real 'Flying Fortress'. What a buxom beauty she was. Known for dropping her load on all the right places.

Say...you know, that gives me an idea!

I think I'll christen my ship...the 'BoB-e Belle'. Yes siree! That has a nice ring to it. My little 'ol mother ship. Why...I can just see the grease monkeys pouring over her right now...checking all her fittings...lubbing up the gears to her flaps...giving her engines a final tuning...calibrating the all impotant bomb site! It's a critical checkup cause her first big mission is rapidly approaching. The orders are being cut even now with target selection already made and approved by the BoBOMB Command (that's the "Brother's of Briar Outgageously Massive Bombing Command").

I'd recommend that all 20 of the other pilots start getting affairs in order, begin their initial soul searching and start thinking about their own ship's bomb load. Orders will be posted in just a few days and with the target announced we can all do the fine tuning of our bomb loads and get ready to start the mission on time.

I can just see the squadron taking off now...lumbering down the runway, into the wind, engines screaming...straining for lift...bomb racks loaded with dizzying goodness. And then, after their long chilly flight through the dark of night they will line up with precision on the target below...and totally bury the poor unsuspecting sonuvabitch up to his armpits in explosive splendor! (This while his muttering postal carrier drives away after roundly cursing him to the seven layers of the inferno). Bwahaahhaaaahhhaaaaaaa!

Oh. Sorry. Got a little carried away there. Won't happen again.

(til next time anyway)

...and here I am trying to be "good" as requested. Suspect

It's not a cap, it's a cheap, felt bowler. I don't wear it often. It's a lint magnet and has an equally cheap sweatband.

Well, not really... I have an old The Clash pin on the hatband with a Rat Bastard Root Beer cap over the top. I'm lost on the relevance.

So...I guess it's more than a hat pin...it's a bowling pin, (since it's on a bowler), eh?
