PostSubject: I didn't want to have to post this   Wed Apr 18, 2012 6:21 pm

As the title says, I really didn't want to have to make this post but something has happened that I think the community should be aware of. While the vast majority of our membership are truly good people, there are some among us with less honorable intentions.

Some of you may have seen a thread in which I mentioned purchasing a full pound of Full Virgina Flake, but only wanting half. I offered to sell the other half at cost. The member who offered to buy the other half was a long standing member who, while never having dealt with him personally before, I trusted implicitly. That person turned around and betrayed my trust.

I had asked that he hold payment until I had the package in my hands because I purchased from a vendor I had never dealt with before and I wanted to make sure that I didn't have any problems getting the full pound of tobacco. When it arrived as planned, I sent this member a PM and said that I would ship my end right away and he could go a head and mail the check.

This was a straight forward transaction - half a pound of tobacco for half the price I paid. Unfortunately this member chose to blatantly disregard our agreed upon terms. Instead of simply sending a check as agreed he sent a check and enough sample baggies of tobacco to equal the weight I sent him. Not only did his little bomb blow my hands right off, but he somehow crept into the darkest corners of my mind and managed to send me more than half a dozen samples of blends that I have been dying to try. Each blend is completely new to me.

This person's name is Natch, and his dastardly deeds will not go unpunished. I ask for your help in making him pay for his sins.

Seriously Jeff, your generosity is greatly appreciate, thank you brother.

I suspect he's trying to get your taste buds so confused by the other stuff you'll sell him the other half pound of the FVF too.

It's a strategic investment on his part -- knowing full well that the only weedage better than FVF is Embarcadero. (Although Union Square may be).

Clever guy, that Natch !

What a Face

You had me! I was reading it and was appalled at first. And then it hit me... I couldn't imagine anyone here actually throwing punches below the belt, good thing you were joking!

A well delivered curve ball to be sure. I was starting to think the worst had happened. Glad to hear it was Natch being Natch. Smile

You're one devious bastard of briar, Dave! Two lines in and I didn't want to read the rest. I think the only brother sneakier than you is Natch himself.

Well that was a twister for sure. A well camouflaged jape I must say. Baited, hidden and then sprung with Masterful precision. I tip my hat to you Sir. I hope you enjoy your Treasures.

Bowled a googly? Pardon my ignorance, Gumball, but to which sport, if any, does that phrase refer?

Correct.
But I only know that from a Seinfeld American Express commercial.
I have no idea what it means either. Laughing

'bowling' is the throwing of the cricket ball, a googly is a 'delivery' which should break (in baseball-speak) down and inside, the cricket version of an inside curve.

On topic, I was taken in as well! I was thinking, "Why is he posting that thread here instead of the 'BoB Business Bureau?"

To stay with cricket, "Well played, sir!"
