For those of us who remember The Band and Woodstock, Levon Helm died today. It truly is a "...night they drove ol Dixie down" He was 71 YO. Guess we are all getting close.

Whoa! Wait a minute here! I've not moved to Geezer City - yet..... Cool

Seriously now - Yes, a sad loss. I especially liked "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek". Classics that will no doubt stand the test of time.

We're all closer than we were yesterday, Rob. Cool It's that whole "make today count" thing I ramble on about.

My mother, brother and sister got caught in Woodstock accidentally driving back to the lower part of NY state which was home. The traffic was so heavy, they just put it in park like everyone else and wandered around for two days. Laughing The stories I heard.

Closer to the end than the beginning.

Damn I didn't know this, i just saw him perform last summer at the Philly Folk Festival. Joan Baez's version of Dixie is about the only song ever that my mother and I can both enjoy listening too.
