I'm working on a new technology which allows me to materialize my payload above the target and then gravity takes over. But it all seems so "Dexter". There's nothing like feelin' the roar of those lovely DeHaviland's, the smell of grease and hot metal, the creak of the A-1 as I slip it on while juggling a cup a'joe, barkin' orders at 'Sparky' and 'Backwash' til they get the payload secured in place and the belts of 50 cal squared away, goin' over the maps one more time.

Last mission out over Montana somewhere we ran into a flight of 109's and Sparky ended up with a nice stitch of holes right over his jumpseat. Man, if he'd been standing up it woulda' been all over. As it is he just ended up with a little piece of fusilage 'bout as big as a BB in his shoulder. Shoulda heard him whine. Woulda thought he'd taken a hit in the bread basket. When we got 'er back inside the hanger...the Doc, he looked at the holes and just rolled his eyes. Said he'd seen more holes in the cheese he had on his sandwich at lunch and wouldn't even put a patch over 'em. Said he had REAL things to fix and that they would just be good for 'air conditioning'...whatever that is. That Doc...he's a real card!

Anyway, I think I'll junk the "Dexter Materializer". Last trial run...DeeDee came in halfway into the windup for the big Hundai "Mr. Cyclotron" and flipped the off switch. Only half the payload showed up out on the test range...just the crates! What's up with that? And they want ME to go out there in the desert and pick up all that broken up wood. Well, I told 'em I'd think about it maybe after it stopped glowing. Heh, heh. The idiot generals didn't know that would be about 300,000 years...give or take! Anyway that damn lab coat rubs my neck raw.

"Hey...Backwash...get back here and get this 200 pounder bolted up right...I don't wanna hafta be dancin' outta the way when it busts loose and goes skiddin' down the deck like a...like a...hell, I don't know what...just get back here and bolt it right and quit whining outa yer piehole like some ol' lady!

Jeez! I gotta do everything! (And I wouldn't have it any other way. But don't let on to Backwash.)

I wonder what would happen if you used an ember from that run to light up a bowl? Would you gain superhuman strength or speed? Just sayin...

Bad Horse
Bad Horse
Bad Horse

He rides across the nation
The thoroughbred of sin
He got the application
That you just sent in

It needs evaluation
So let the games begin
A heinous crime, a show of force
A murder would be nice of course

Bad Horse
Bad Horse
Bad Horse
Heís Bad

The Evil League of Evil
Is watching so beware
The grade that you receive
Will be your last we swear

So make the Bad Horse gleeful
Or heíll make you his mare...

Youíre saddled up
Thereís no recourse
Itís Hi-Ho Silver
Signed, Bad Horse

FishFuzz, thanks for posting the Bad Horse lyrics. From the first time I stepped onto this forum and saw BH as an abbreviation for BlackHorse all I could think about was Dr. Horrible.

Re the bombing, package prepped and on schedule for a Friday delivery.

Dr. Horrible is the jam--and unless my eyes mistake me, Dusty Roundup is one of his sidekicks/back-up singers!
