Ok, Tech - vote added to the running tally. Very Good, Sir.

I won't choose myself for the prize though. That would be cheating you guys. Not a good example.

With the Commander's permission - I would like to pull myself from the list of Pilots eligible to win the prize, since I was last month's Target.

You guys bombed the hell out of me and although the debris has been cleaned up, it will be a while before the rebuilding is complete. Shocked

It's still not as bad as rebuilding the Death Star though - that was a freakin Nightmare... Cool

Sorry guys...thought I'd let you know that I'm really buried here with a number of projects. Daughter had surgery last week and we're still in recovery mode. Yes, she's fine...it was only 4 wisdom teeth and everything went really well, but my load got much heavier with that situation going on.

Anyway...I won't be able to get the target data out til Tuesday, the 2rd...or perhaps Wednesday, the 3rd...etc., etc., etc. But I'll do my best, as always. I made a New Year's resolution...that 2011 would be a year of striving for exactness and perfection in all things...and I plan to KEEP it!

Thanks for your understanding. What a great buncha guys you are!

I'm still trying to force the 1st to be Monday like you wanted it, and wondering if that'll screw up my plans for the holiday. Let us know if we can help with anything, mission-wise.
(I just PM'd you about that, BTW)

As soon as I find my flux capacitor we will figure out how to work this whole date thing. Heck we can go back to last month and bomb the crap out of Rob again while making sure Biff drives his car into that truck of manure.

Heh, heh! Oh...you'll be there all right. I KNOW you weren't referring to being excused from the mission, and of course, you're not. You just get to fly with no escort. So I hope you're good at dodging those Messerschmitt 109's.

Just kidding...you get escort like the rest of us. But you ARE out of the tin prize thing. Fair is fair.

But definite points for taking it like an officer and gentleman.

Guidelines are under review by the review panel sent out from Flight Headquarters. Shouldn't take more than a few months to get a fire built under their skinny butts.

I'll try and start doing the 'send out's' tonight. Stay tuned for further developments. Film and eleven!

Remember...no chatter about targets, their names, locations or any other comments that could lead ANYONE to guess who the target of the month is...and the "hit date" is Friday the 20th...so time you flights so that the bombs will hit on that date! Basic.

Commander - I'm keeping the Vote tallies up to date. I'll post the results when given the order to.

So far 13 Votes have been cast. It was up to 14 votes, but 1 Pilot (so far) has been disqualified...

Oh boy.... Mad

Sorry Brother Mozjo33, your vote has already been cast and added to the running tally. Official Rules prevent one from going back and changing their vote once cast. Only the Commander himself can overturn this rule.

BTW Pilots -

This is the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for dealing with pilots who try to change their votes after having been cast: Twisted Evil

Unfortunately I am unable to participate this month and the next. But I will be watching and looking forward to getting back in on the action.

Also, do not know how it is that I have not been following this thread. Oy.

Honestly, looking at the aircraft that BH gave for voting on: My first reaction is to go with the P-51D (I like to be specific about my aircraft). There are many reasons, a lot of them all ready stated, in addition to it being my absolute favorite military prop propelled plane of WWII. However, when speaking of "the" plane, several points need to be made in defense of the P-40E. Granted it was an older design but that in no way slowed it down (insert joke about already being slow). The spitfire was an old airframe as well. Though the P-51D was one of the best fighters ever put in the air by the US the P-40 series was the first fighter in wartime production, was flown by more allies in more places and in larger numbers than other US fighters. All the while doing well. It, like the spitfire, did the job it needed to and for as long as it needed to, replaced and down graded in duty only in the final years of the war.

All of that to say that objectively, it should probably be the P-40E Warhawk, but for the purpose of the BoB Bomber support fighter? Hands down the P-51D Mustang.
