I've heard this phrased used a lot to describe baseball games lately. No doubt it will roll into the late football season.

I want to scream "EVERY GAME HAS PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS"

And to make matters worse, implications although commonly used does not really fit. At least not in my mind. Are the playoffs being implied? Or is the game implied? Or is the implication implied? Lol

Bring back madden and the drunk guy.

You're starting to sound like one a them bow-tie wearin' perfessors with their so-called "rigorous mathematical models" and "insistence on accurate definitions," PB! Told you not to drink the water last time you were in NYC.

A better word than "implications" would be "consequences."

(Sadly, today's Mets-Marlins tilt did not have playoff consequences... the only thing it affected was how soon they could call for a tee time.)

So, what exactly are you implying, PB?

I guess they don't still sing "I want to play for you, Bear? "
