Welcome. Yinz from north of Picksburg, ya' say?

Where exactly? We might burn a bowl or two together someday in a smoke friendly public house.

Well I haven't been smoking a pipe for very long, I have been a cigar smoker for quite some time but thought I would try pipe tobacco again, so I went to my local tobacconist told him my hopes, from reading forums like this and comparing my cigar tastes which are full body full , I figured I'd like English blends, so we picked out P.S. proper English, and Lord fairfax, I also told him I should try other blends too, so he picked out a couple of aromatics, a couple of burley blends, I cant taste the aromatics at al and very little of burley, I am in love with Latvia, I want to try a Balkan, and some oriental, and some virginians, but I'm pretty sure I prefer full body, full flavor
I'm not sure about pipes yet, I bought estate bulldog n name, an a cob to see if I was going to like it or not

Music I like a lot of stuff;
Todd Snyder
the avett brothers
Johnny cash
Waylon
hank III
social distortion
rancid
steely Dan
cake
and on and on

Welcome.
I think the you'll find a tobacco that suits you.
Buy very small amounts at first. Don't throw anything away...your taste will change.

Sort of gives a new definition of "smart phone", doesn't it? Smile

BTW, which is the B&M you consider to be local for you?

Hmmmm I thought I replied to this once already , watch it will show up as a duplicate post some where obscure, any how once again....

If by b&m you mean tobacco shops I have been going to Allegheny smoke works in Blawnox, Mie who I think is the owner is a good guy, and really helpful with my questions, plus they have the biggest selection of tobacco I know of bulk, and tinned

I guessed that would have been the shop to which you were referring. Good for you that they treat you well. As for me, when I called them two weeks ago to inquire as to what Cornell and Diehl blends they stocked the fellow on the phone was most off-putting, seeming ill tempered that I was trying to save some gasoline by calling. Not receiving any answer that would indicate he even knew what an English blend was or any interest on his part to even walk over and read off some of his stock, I was inclined to write them off. I understand they have a pipe club that informally meets on the second Saturday of each month and I think we've another member here who participates.
For me, when I want a "local" shop, I go to El Fumador in Sewickley - pricey but well stocked usually. Our South Hills Tinderbox closed about six months ago. Sad but predictable.

I also shop the local Cigar Express for tinned Dunhills, decent pricies.
