Thus far I've completed what I think is a list of what hit today and a few days ago. Couldn't do more due to writer's cramp. That and the plaster was still setting. And Nurse Deezle kept coming in with this little thermometer and a gleem in her eye. That one scares me.

Glad to see you made it out alive BH!!!

No cookies. But aside from that the ordinance loadout is extreme...EASILY topping the Birthday plus Christmas loot total that I've ever received in a given year. The most moving however were some of the comments either written on cards enclosed with the gifts or sent via PM. What really struck me was the apparent fact that a seemingly small and normal act on my part had a huge impact on the spirit and life of a brother here. That was perhaps the most meaningful thing...but the piles of tins and pipes and gear and raw materials (which I always love seeing) are pretty darn cool too.

I've started to catalog the loot and will chime in with category totals as they are available, and then post photos as I'm able, within the next few days.

Edit One: Initial breakdown. Rough analysis by CSI lab shows 5 pipes, 12 different pipe or knife materials (mostly exotic wood), 32 tins or bags of tobacco blends.

OK, I did a test at one time and found that a tin of Dunhill Royal Yacht yielded 18 normal bowls. If I smoked an average of 2 bowls per day that tin would last about a week. Given that one of the tins is an 8 oz beast, that's 35 weeks worth out of an annual 54 weeks...about 60 percent. Pretty amazing.

I won't generally reveal the source of specific items, but wanted to mention that I opened a bag of Cousin's 1000 blend from I D Bowman and not only was it a stellar smoke, a very moderate sized bowl lasted over 2hrs. Pretty amazing. (never heard of the place or the blend before)

So, has someone calculated if all the mission Wild Weasel and MOAB armaments have impacted? Laughing

Watched it several times today myself. Amazed at the professionalism involved in this little clip! Are you folks in the film industry or something? Very impressed!!

But not to diminish the intent and content - this was well planned and executed! What a kick to see BH in his own comfortable habitat being an unsuspecting target.

Cheers,

Thanks to one and all for the video compliments. The dirty secret: used my iPad mini to record, edit, and post the whole thing - while at the site of doom. I figured I needed to give BH a chance to veto any portion (as it was his house), and it gave us a chance to fire off one last salvo before we left.

Yes...indeed it was a sigular pleasure to have Fuzzy and Gravel visit, if only for a short time. I learned that there actually WERE a couple of other guys in the world that knew what a Behmor 1600 Drum Roaster, or an iRoast2 were! They brought fresh home roasted Guatamalan beans - so I gave them green Guatamalan beans. They didn't have time to stay for a bowl - so I gave them a complete set of John Patton's blends (not counting Storm Front). There was so much going on and going on so fast that I started my story about the Dunhill store in SanFrancisco about 5 times and never did finish it. But I do the same thing with my wife, so maybe that's not real proof of the conviviality that prevailed.

Of course the above was conducted within some kind of 'cone of non-incindiary atmosphere' since the whole house and most of the surroounding properties were razed to the ground, and they were both here the whole time, and yet they waltzed away unscathed. How do you explain THAT? Maybe some kind of a Santa thing. Whatever.

Since yesterday was my 32nd wedding anniversary and I had 'duties' to attend to, which I did with applomb.

I did have a chance to sit down today and do a master listing of all items received. I'm still astonished!

In addition, I have removed the catagory dividers that separated the items into groups according to who it was that sent it. So if you go down the list and find your items, they should all be together...except for the Buffalo Trace.

ISS reported sighting easily during the day as they passed.

I think this might just be the biggest single drop in history.

I don't think that kind of haul is actually photographable.

Perhaps a deal can be made with NASA to arrange a hubble telescope snapshot?

Sad to say that Hubble is down at the moment. The photo couplers got fried recently during a freak 'atmospheric event' - emanating from the Northwest American continent... 45th parallel. Happened at about 30 minutes past noon on Wednesday the 5th. Terrible thing. The entire scientific community is up in arms and have Inerpol, MI6 and the CIA looking into it. If they ever (gulp) find who produced the fireball that killed the great scientific icon of the age...well, you know how the CIA works.

Say...has anyone seen gravel and fishfuzz anywhere around here recently?

I have photos taken. Now I need to upload, choose and edit for posting. Hopefully they will be up this evening, but the tree trimming party might get in the way. Tomorrow at the latest.
