I just received a couple NOS bowls that I picked up on ebay. The seller has been slowly liquidating the inventory of a store that was started in the late 19th century and went out of business in 1976. I think she indicated that these or at least some others that looked just like them were French briar. They are small bulldogs with the diamond shaped shank. There is a gilt stamping on one facet of the shank that is "HKC." Above and below are squiggly lines and at the ends are 5 lines fanning out at their outer ends. Unfortunately I don't have my camera with me to be able to show you. The 2 were about $6 each with shipping included. For that I figured I'd take a chance on them being decently aged briar and have Dave Wolf add stems. As per information I just saw in a different thread I guess Dave isn't going to be doing this for me.

My main interest was in knowing if the HKC might ring a bell with anybody and possibly shed a little light on the history of these.
