This fella turned up yesterday....A lovely Brigham 2 Dot "Sportsman" unfinished....it's real hard to get hold of brighams in the UK but I got this for pennies on the bay, just what I want for lazy days in the canoe paddling round the Cornish creeks.

I'm looking forward to filling her up as I'm sure I won't be disappointed, I especially like the aesthetics of the aluminium tenon...like I say that just my opinion.

Bonus points if any Brothers can name the book under the Brigham.

I haven't a clue, but it looks quite interesting. Nice pipe, too. Great job finding it for a bargain.

I've doing bit more research on these pipes and think I may jumped the gun.

It looks a little "too" finished to be a sportsman...I think it's a "pot shape" model as seen in this Brigham leaflet.....Top middle.

Beautiful pipe, I have a Canadian made Brigham too, top half of bowl smooth rest rusticated. Love it, it's a one dot and I love that the tenon is aluminum. Would love to pick up more old Brighams since mine is a great smoker. Could definitely see taking it out on the water, or just fishing or hiking, with an English blend in bowl.

Good job on the acquisition, hope it's a fantastic smoke. Very Happy

I really like my Brigham, the filter not so much but aesthetically it looks and feels great. Nice find! I'm starting to really like the unfinished look of briar pipes.

Looks almost like one of the Foxfire books (my namesake), although the "Japanese Shelter" plate leads me to believe otherwise.

Good looking Brigham! I am currently waiting for the USPS to deliver my first Brigham. Can't wait to hear how it smokes!

It smokes like a dream...better than the new Algonquin I got....I had a few bowls and then set to getting out the oxidisation from the stem...it came up nice with minimal effort - used a magic eraser.

I don't want to be too precious with it as it will be a daily user...got my eye on a few more though.

It's nice to hear good things from the Brothers regarding their Brighams.

LETS SEE SOME PICS!!!!!

.....Foxfire, you nearly there.

Ahh... thought I lost this thread. Here's a pic of my Brigham. Smoked some Boswell's Chocolate in it; not quite as good as I remember it but then again I've been enjoying the Frog lately....

I've also found a few pieces of coral from the beach that make fantastic pipe rests.
