So, as most of you know I sent Greyson a late bomb last month. Well today he got his revenge. I received this amazingly red box from the postman a bit ago. Here are the contents. Needless to say, I am beside myself. And for a woman in my condition this is the PERFECT bomb. As I type my 3 year old (well in two weeks anyway) daughter is getting all the tea party stuff out and set up. We are getting ready to have tea with biscuits and jam....English style. I even have some clotted cream to smear on some scones.

2 boxes of Cornish Fairings (1 original, 1 Real)
1 jar Hot Apple Chutney
1 jar Qunice Charming (jam)
1 jar Strawberry Preserves
1 jar Orange Curd
1 box Twinings English Breakfast Tea
1- 3 pack of Cadburry Cream Egg
1 box Granny Wobbly's Fudge Pantry Assorted Fudge

Have you ever had lemon curd? It is almost like a super thick pudding that you smear on toast or biscuits. I've never had orange curd, but can only assume it's the same, just orange. Lemon Curd is awesome. Go get a little jar (it's with the PB and Jelly) and give it a try. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

You should try and get some Lemon Cheese,
Very similar to Lemon Curd, but even nicer.

I could be wrong but I thought Scottie was a carver but not an actual smoker (although her husband is), so if I sent a normal sort of bomb I'd be hitting him, an innocent bystander, and that's not justice. Revenge calls for accuracy, and I knew Scottie was interested in regional foods and I figured a shotgun approach like this would at least get her SOMETHING she liked.

Also yes, Lemon curd is great (difficult to beat it on hot buttered toast) but orange is a little more unusual. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it before BC, it's often used in lemon meringue pie (in a more solid cooked form) as the lemony stuff.

I'm glad to see nothing got broken, I was running low on bubble wrap by the end!

It all arrived in perfect condition. The fairings are already gone as well as most of the Quince Charming ( I ate them together and it was awesome). There are only a few pieces of fudge left (my husband really liked it). I am hording the rest of the jams for a while....okay at least another day or two Laughing

The Original Fairings taste just like a Ginger Snap (my grandpa's favorite cookie....er, biscuit). The Apple Cinnamon tastes just like my mom's apple pie. Great stuff and totally addicting.

I haven't broken into the cook book yet, but will do so tomorrow before I go to the store. I'm going to pick a few things to make for dinner this weekend.

As long as it's something that can be canned we have a deal. I love cooking for people....even if it's long distance.
