Kyle, most of my time on this site i'm envious of the tax breaks & cheap baccy south of the border. When it comes to health care you just gave me wake up call. Thanks for the reminder. I'll quit bitchin about the tobacco prices here.

I know exactly how a heavy financial weight suddenly lifting from one's shoulders feels. It's like pulling off your pants and running wild. Enjoy the moment, Kyle.

The realization is my limit is about four...four big things. Someone on here said (paraphrasing) one will not be pushed beyond what they can handle. I think the purpose of that, for better or worse, is to outline the boundaries of what can be handled. 🤷 Perhaps this was just to show me that I found that limit, and even when there might be three things still remaining--it's far less heavy than the maximum load, and that's good motivation.

Feels that way at this point, anyway.

There's plenty more to be done, and I can move a little faster, focus a bit better.

"True blessings are uncommon realizations." I'll stick with that as an on-the-fly maxim rattling around my head. Laughing

Cool

It's cool--I messaged Jack, asked him how he was doing, sent him this link (better than typing the whole thing again, anyway...Lazyweiss...)...my fault. Laughing

Kyle,
I wasn't able to offer you any encouragement when each tragedy or event took place due to my own illness at the time but I'm glad to hear you say things seem to be getting better. It's hard to understand why these things happen when and as often as they do. I too
have seen hard times and traveled some rough roads in my life just as so many others have. I've come to realize that sometime these things occur in order to give us the experience in such situations so that we can be able to relate to the trouble a friend or other family member may be experiencing and do so with the honest knowledge and true compassion needed to offer genuine encouragement, good advice, and hope. Nothing is more repugnant than false sympathy to someone grieving or hurting. You'll find that helping someone else down some rough road that you have traveled will help your own healing process. I hope this helps and I am glad your life seems to be getting back on track. Very Happy

Thanks, AJ. Smile

Stick around, you'll start learning my 35 years might as well be twice that many--pretty much a wash cycle stuck on foolishly helping others when I ought to have helped myself and rinsing in some pretty damned bad luck.

The thing is, I don't give up. I want to, I think about it, I scream until I'm blue in the face and sick of it all, but I don't give up. I count the small things that do matter, even when massive problems loom overhead.

My promise to myself at this point, something a long time a-comin', is to never miss another opportunity again, no matter how silly, off-the-wall, or uncomfortable. In this case, the folks here on this site saw me and mine through some pretty awful stuff, and never left my side. Random guys on the Internet I had never met came through more than my own family, surpassed what any of my friends could do, and helped carry the weight in ways they cannot imagine.

So of course I'd bear something like that for someone else. That's what I usually do...it was just nice to have some fellas return the favor--I never expected that.

Take care of yourself and keep gettin' better, AJ. cheers

Cool
