PostSubject: FREE MOVIES!!!   Tue Jul 09, 2013 4:25 am

I already created a couple threads with links to this site, but in case some of you missed it, I wanted to make this site easy to find for those who might be interested in watching the most current new releases, as well as favorite titles from the golden age of Hollywood.

Just about any movie you can think of can be found here, and can be watched commercial free in it's entirety. The only advertising is one or two popups during the search process when looking for a particular movie. I have been watching movies daily on this site for the past couple months, and have had zero issues with malware or viruses. It's not even necessary to register on the site and give up your e-mail address, in order to watch movies on the site.

When doing searches, remember to enter into the search box the exact correct spelling of the name of the movie you are searching for. Otherwise your search may come back empty.

The site is called VIOOZ, check it out when you have the time-

I was immediately prompted to give an email adress and password, and then credit card info. Don't see a way to watch any movies without doing so. Also, each and every click brings up a new tab with advertising.

PD, just close the pop up window during the search process and ignore the popups. The pop ups are separate advertising that opens in a separate window have nothing to do with the actual function of the Viooz site itself, and as I said, it's not necessary to register on the site and give up any personal info.

I've been using the site for over 2 months and have watched over 60 different movies without paying a dime, and haven't had any malware or virus issues, and my computer is 6 years old and functioning as fast as it was when new. I waited a couple months to post this here on the forums, in case there were any virus or malware issues to be concerned with, but at this point, I am confident that the site is safe to use. Best of all, I can watch all the new releases as fast as they are released to the public market.

Might be that I'm using an iPad, I don't know. I picked a movie, clicked on it, and was sent to a page that wanted me to give my email addy and create a password. OK, no big deal, I did. Then it immediately sent me to a page that asked for credit card info. I tried a couple times with a couple different movies and each time it took me to the credit card harvesting page. I don't see a way to view a movie without giving credit card info first.

PostSubject: Re: FREE MOVIES!!!   Tue Jul 09, 2013 10:28 am

PD, I am using a laptop at home, and I have 2 different types of software to surf the internet. Google Chrome and AOL Desktop. The AOL Desktop software can have some issues that I don't like, but I have successfully accessed the Viooz site using both Google Chrome as well as AOL Desktop.

Most of the time on my puter, the popups generated are some type of game related advertising. I have never clicked on any of them, just simply closed them as soon as they pop up and then continued my search and watched my movie. The popups on my computer only happen once or twice while I am using the search function. Once I have started the movie, I never get any more popups while it is playing.

This site must be operated from somewhere outside the USA, because I would think that it would be shut down immediately with the number of people who would be obviously upset once they were aware of it's existence. Since I found it online a couple months ago, I have spent most of my free time enjoying one movie after another. I'm not sure if your iPad is making your experience different than mine. If you have access to a different computer, maybe do a search there and see if your experience is different.

Yeah, who knows. The pop ups aren't a big deal, it's the credit card thing that's stopping me (no way I'm giving that out). I signed up, did the whole email verification thing, logged back in. Simply cannot pick a movie and click on the stream now button without being sent to a page that requires me to enter my credit card info before I can proceed.

Are you streaming or downloading the content? May be an IOS thing, or something they're doing with new members.

Looks like it's from Great Britain. If they're doing it legit with revenue coming from the ads I'm fine with that. If it's a pay site or a bootleg site, better that I can't get in in the first place.

PD, I'm not having to actually download the movie. I know where files are kept when they are downloaded to my computer, and I have checked that file location repeatedly to make sure that nothing is being downloaded into my computer.

For me, using this Viooz site is almost identical to watching videos on YouTube, except that everything I have watched is commercial free.

I found the site because I wanted to watch a movie on YouTube, but it was broken up into 10 minute segments, so I tried to find that movie in its entirety somewhere else online. Doing a google search I found the Viooz site, and I have been able to watch every movie the last couple months without giving any credit card info, or paying anything. Maybe someone else will try it and use it free like I have been doing.

I am not sure why it's not working for you, unless you have some sort of liberal cookies in your computer, and the owners of the site figure liberals have got too much free already and have you blocked. Laughing

I did Netflix for a month until I discovered that you couldn't stream any movie of note made after 1950. On Hulu Plus for a second month, ditto availability, but many of the unknowns they have are very good. On Amazon now for a month free but they want to charge lump sums for a multi-month payment. Canceling soon. Went to Vioosz and immediately got a hit on "Once Upon a Time in the West," one of my favorites. If I keep finding good stuff there I'll cancel Hulu.

I just watched "The Assassination of Richard Nixon" this morning, commercial free without having to pay a dime. Sean Penn did a great job playing this role. I had no idea anyone ever tried to knock off Tricky Dick until I watched this movie.

The movies available on this site aren't the usual B movies that are so prevalent on other sites. I also just watched the new Die Hard movie a few days ago. Stuff just never stopped blowing up, and I was a little disappointed with that one.

Ran into some snags, but none that couldn't be gotten around. One was that a sub-window appeared when I clicked the "on" button and was preemptive, ie wouldn't allow any selection other than to download the vid player. The other was very similar. I was able to click on my browser's menu buttons, however, and was able to kill the browser with them. I just found other movies to watch; there appear to be lots of them!

I just watched "There Will Be Blood" earlier today, as well as the new DeNiro/Travolta flick called "Killing Season."

When it comes to the popups, I simply close the entire window and resume my search. Once I start watching a movie, I never get any popups or any other distractions. This is the best site I have ever used, and I wonder how long it will last being totally free.

I've had a Netflix streaming only account for many years and did not find this to be the case. Maybe we just have differing opinions as to what's notable. If not, I suspect you may have had some sort of issue. I find the service worth the money they charge, if only sometimes just....YMMV.

Watched "The Demented" on Viooz. Classic zombie flick with 4 young adults running for their lives. In the end all get eaten. Brought out that warm feeling in my heart.Cool

The power company is replacing our pole and because of that, I had to have DISH come out and relocate our dish as the line would be too close. After he was done he asked what Internet we had. Having DSL he offered us a free wireless dongle that plugs into the Dish reciever. We connected to the network. Instant access to over 6000 movies, nearly 700 free. No ads. Always changing. Watch when you want. Some are time limited, say for 30 days. Some on the free list are fairly recent. It also gives you access to Blockbusters movies. Don't know why we never knew about this free dongle.

Carlos, you know, when I was watching that new DeNiro movie the other day, I noticed during the movie that someone's silhouette walked in front of the camera with a large bucket of popcorn. I said to myself WTF!!!

It was then I realized that whoever is running this Viooz site, is taking a camera in and video taping the most recent movies before they are even released on DVD to the public. Later on, once the DVD's are released, they must be going back and putting an actual copy on to the site. I noticed this happen when I was watching "The Great Gatsby" a few weeks ago, and now I saw the same thing again. Both movies are new releases, but I have never seen it happen with any of the other 70+ movies I have watched on the site.

The clarity of their camera is so clear, I wasn't able to tell that the footage was actually being filmed inside a theatre. I had to rewind it and watch it again, to make sure what I was seeing, was actually what I thought I was seeing. LOL

Sometimes Viooz puts a pop-up in your path such that getting rid of it requires that you accept a download. I just select to quit the browser, from the menu. Disrupts my viewing but it really doesn't take long to get back to what I was watching.

Alfredo, yeah those are the type pop ups I experience when doing a search, but I never experience them after I start watching a movie. Like you I just click the red x and close the new browser and continue with my search.

I just watched a great new movie yesterday called "Mud." It's an awesome coming of age movie. If you haven't seen it yet, you should check it out.

I can never think of titles for movies I want to see, so I google search like "best sci fi movies," get someone's list and then see if they have it. So far they're running about 80% good. What an awesome selection for free!

If you like sci fi, "Alien" and "Aliens" are classic, but I watched an unknown yesterday called "Dark City." Sci fi noir, one of the darkest/blackest palates I've ever seen. You might call it ultra. Good story, very dark themes, with William Hurt and a very young Jennifer Connolly. Apparently she sings but is not serious about that. Very original and twisted plot which holds together thematically.

I too have put in a google search for a certain genre of movies in order to get some ideas. Another method I have used is to google a particular actor or actress. Wikipedia usuallly has their filmography listed on their wikipedia page. Once you click on a wikipedia page for a particular movie, you can then go to the cast listing and search the filmography of other actors and actresses. Searching this way can give you an endless supply of ideas for movie title searches.

If you save a movie to favorites every time you do a search on the Viooz site, you will always have more movies bookmarked to watch, than you have time to watch them. Also, if you keep an eye on the home page of the Viooz site, you can save to favorites new titles as soon as they are added to the site.

I watched the new Tom Cruise movie "Oblivion" yesterday, but wasn't too impressed with it, since I usually prefer my science fiction to have lots of bloodshed.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the search feature is very case sensitive on the Viooz site. Here are a couple examples of how you could miss a movie in a search simply because of one small error in typing in the search.

The movie titled, "New York, I Love You," would be missed in your search if you left out the comma after the word New York.

Another example is the movie Life Happens. The actual spelling of the movie uses an exclaimation point in place of the letter "i." In order to search and find this movie, it needs to be spelled "L!fe Happens," in the search box in order to find this title.

I have almost missed several movies doing a search, simply because the search feature is extremely case sensitive. If you take the time to carefully check the spelling, you can actually find the movie you are searching for in most cases.

They wanted a credit card number to "validate" my account, as usual saying that it "would not be charged." Horse-hockey. In my experience if you give someone your credit card they charge you the hidden charge that's buried on some tangential page that you never see. It's shady business, a scam, but that's how they make their money.

Am I wrong? Vioosz was great until they updated their flash player, I think, and bypassed Mac 10.5.8.

Since striking out at Vioosz, I've been on YouTube. Many movies someone would pay to see are there but demand a fee. I've been watching the free stuff, and there's plenty there. Just finished watching "The Borrower," a great horror film in which an alien wears out heads. If you're around when that happens he takes yours. . .
