Got bit by the new truck bug....

2013 Ram 2500 with the 5.7l HEMI. Almost bought the diesel, just didn't want to pay the extra 7800.00 for it. Should be great this winter! What a Face

Damn fine lookin' rig fatty.

Several ys ago, I considered one of these along with a F150. Ended up with something else altogether.

Yet very positive feelings on the Dodge Ram.

Enjoy your new ride!

Cheers,

RR

nice truck, fatman!

are diesels a PITA up in AK? or you just keep 'em plugged in?

7,800 seems pretty pricey for the upgrade - though i assume it's a nice cummins that'll last longer than the body and frame will!

enjoy it in good health.

what baccy did you christen her with?!?!?!?

doody.

Mr.Doody, The diesel I had before I just plugged in when the temps were low, so no issues at home. Leaving work with no place to plug in, well I would go out and start it up 30 mins before I left, during the winter. I have not smoked in it, I usually don't smoke in my vehicles :oops:The Cummins is a 7800.00 option....dang it! I was wanting a manual transmission as well, none on the lot sadly.

Draagha. I will use the great team I already I using Smile

Gas up here is 3.92 a gallon. Diesel is 4.15, not as bad as some places, not as good as others. Thankfully the cost of gas doesn't matter, I do well Very Happy

That's a really nice pickup Fatman! My 03 1500 has around 108,000 miles, and I have yet to need to replace anything except the battery. Same experience I had with my 98 Dakota , no out of pocket expenses except for a battery and regular maintenance. IMO, it's really hard to beat a Dodge Ram. cheers cheers cheers

That's a nice one FM. Really like the color too. Every vehicle I've purchased since 1985 has been dark charcoal gray. Does it have 4 wheel drive? Living in AK kinda makes it a requirement doesn't it? Or is this a common misconception? BTW just loved your response about gas prices. I WAS doing well then my doctor told me I paid for his son's college last year. Sad  That's alright though, I'm still around to watch and play with my grandbabies.Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Great truck!

Enough space in the back to haul your elk home this fall.

Enough space in the front to haul the moose around all year.

4 wheel drive really helps. There are folks that have 2 wheel drive and just load sand bags in the bed of their trucks for traction. When winter hits, I will post pics of the sand bags that are sold just for that purpose! It's the first grey vehicle that I have owned. the Jeep I traded in was a new color called "Dozer". Looked more like school bus yellow.

Can't beat a Dodge Ram! My 05 1500 is still going strong, just about to hit 100,000 miles on it. Aside from a brake job at 50K miles and a smog sensor that had to be replaced under warranty, I haven't had to do a thing to it. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

I love me a HEMI. I can pick them out of the traffic going by my house without even looking. Nice cowboy limousine, Fatman. Smile

Nice nice truck!!! I've got an 01 Ram quad cab with the 5.9. She's my first truck ever, and now that I own one I can't imagine living without one.

I've never been bias towards one American truck maker over another, in fact, I've always thought a Tundra was the truck to have. But now that I've owned my Ram, I'm not so sure I wouldn't just buy another when the time came.

I bet yours looks awesome inside!

Congrats and enjoy!

Brian.
