this is an usy from the cliff top at exit glacier. There was a black bear eating berries below us.

don't remember which glacier this was, but we saw it in the Kenai fyords tour and it was awesome, the sounds of the ice cracking and smashing into the sea... amazing

the harding ice field atop of exit glacier, stunning

Nice vacation. Coming home is always about things you still want to do; but, it is certainly offset by coming home to the new house. Now get that new shop going!

the second picture is from the road out to Millers Landing from Seward, the third picture is beluga point on the Seward Hwy.

Yeah, not this weekend but next I am going up to build my shop. It is going to be an awesome workshop, and will only be used for making pipes. I am excited. We will be moving the weekend of the 20th.

A dear friend gave me an old wooden tool chest that I am going to make into a pipe and tobacco holder, display case when I have time as well, so I have some projects. And I am backed up with orders too... busy reverend

Very awesome pictures John, damn you guys look cold by the Glacier, must have been so thrilling though, very pleased you guys had a good time. Oh John it must feel so exciting getting to set up a proper shop for making pipes in, one day I'm going get a proper shed to work in, our shed is tiny and falling apart ha-ha, makes things interesting, so envious you will have a full on workshop but also very pleased for you my friend. Smile

brown bear was in an enclosure. The black bear we saw was easily 1/4 mile away and not much interested in us.

Rev, was the brown bear at the wildlife conservation center close to Portage? That is a great place to see a variety of wildlife, and I take visitors there so they can see them all.

yup

I really enjoyed that place. We had seen everything we wanted to see in the wild except a brown bear, but I also wanted to see a musk ox. Was awesome getting to see all of the animals in nice habitats. When we got to the brown bear enclosure two of them were playing, man are they scary animals.

the highlights were seeing the orcas on the sight seeing cruise and the crazy glacier calving into the sea. And catching some decent sized salmon. The salmon had slowed down but I caught three, two others on our boat didn't catch anything, and on person caught one, so I feel very fortunate.

Sounds like a great trip, and congrats on catching some salmon! The cruises to see the glaciers are great, and seeing calving glaciers is amazing! To see musk ox in the wild, you have to travel to the far western reaches of Alaska. There is a musk ox farm in Palmer, about an hour outside of Anchorage. A lot of fun, and when the calves are born they are the cutest little things.

I am glad you enjoyed our state! oh, and thanks for bringing some nice weather with you!
