Hey Brothers, and Sisters,

As you may know, I already kind of posted about our intent to adopt in the Towne Crier, but since you guys are like my extended family, I wanted to post a pretty major update, and share with you some excitement.

International adoption can take years to complete. With all the training, home visits, paperwork and so on, it just seems to go on and on. Well, prior to last week, we had been waiting for a single sheet of paper to get signed by someone in China so that we could proceed. There was nothing to do by wait...and my wife isn't good at waiting. We waited almost 150 days for this darned thing, and finally on Saturday we received the signed copy in the mail! We were ecstatic to say the least.

We're not done yet, but basically this means that within the next 2-3 months, we'll be traveling to China to meet and bring home our new little girl.

cheers

Congratulations! One of my nieces has adopted two girls from China, and they are both adorable. I hope your new little girl will bring you as much joy. I'm sure you will give her a great home

Can hardly wait until the day you tell the story how one day while sitting in your favorite chair and enjoying a good smoke that your little girl, for no apparent reason, stopped her playing, crawled up on your lap, put her arms around your neck giving you a big hug, and saying,"I love you Daddy". That will be one of the best days of your life. I know because it happened to me. I love you I love you I love you Very Happy

That just made me smile. With all the training that's required for international adoption (which is a LOT) and all the truth about how tough it will be and how poorly this could all go, it's easy to get lost in the worry of it all. Thanks for a glimmer of light of the good times to come as well.

Thanks guys for all the encouragement!

You will find my friend that your love for that precious little girl will make all the trials and problems seem as nothing when you find that she adores her new mommy and daddy. Just hang tough and you'll find there's more at the end of the tunnel than light. There is more joy and love than you can imagine or hope for. Your life is about to be enriched beyond your wildest imagination or dreams. cheers
