Greetings to all!

After reading a lot of the posts on this site, it seems clear that this is the place to be.  By the way, when I was surfing around this site a couple of months ago, I found a great thread wherein everyone was listing their favorite pipe carvers, most of whom were American.  At the time, the only name I recognized on anyone's list was Tim West, as I've bought a handful of his pipes over the years.  I would sure like to find that thread again, but cannot seem to locate it.  Anyone have an idea where it is?  I should have bookmarked it at the time, but must have gotten distracted by all of the great links listed by all of the members.  If anyone can tell me where that thread is, please let me know, as there was a treasure trove of great information and insight in that thread.

I like loooong Canadians (recently acquired the bad boy pictured below from avid collector Tony Soderman, who also sold me several other giant Canadians, including the Ascorti in my avatar photo), bents along the line of the Dunhill 120 (but can't bring myself to pay the tariff on one of those just yet, so I settled for one of Tony's Orlik pocket magnum 1960's bents, which is scaled up version of the 120 - phenomenal pipe!) and Danish freehands, especially Ben Wade Preben Holm (I know that they are now "out of style," but they smoke great and have a briar aesthetic all their own).  The truth is that I like just about any pipe that doesn't bite me back.

I have about 100 pipes, but I'm not a collector.  I guess I'm what is called on here an "accumulator."  Been smoking pipes since I was 17, so there's been a lot of time to accumulate. I generally only smoke two or three bowls a day while working in my home office (can't smoke in the "real" office, of course), so I'm not a "pro," like the rest of you guys. But the pleasure is there, all the same.

It appears that you have PAS (Pipe Acquisition Syndrome) - a good habit - we won't tell the wife how much we spend...

Welcome, it looks like we share an affinity for the same pipe makers. Tony is also a great resource and one of my favorite ebay vendors (add Mike Reschke as well).

Welcome to the brotherhood.  Indeed, you have found the right place.  Lots of "accumulators" here as well as us reprobates that only have a dozen or so.
You won't find a better crew of folks anywhere.  The generosity and willingness to share is from the
"old school".  Mind blowing generosity and good will permeate this crew.
We are happy you found your way here...sit down and relax, you are in for a good time.

Be a show-off, let's see some pictures of pipe porn....we love it!

Welcome to BoB.

While there ARE some among us who're 'chain-smoking' one bowl after another, there are also those who're smoking one or two bowls a week ... I think you'd find that your two or three a day is a strong average ... I'm almost always good for 3 and sometimes 4, but there ARE those days (such as yesterday) when it's no more than two ...
