Sitting on the deck of a Suite as big as my house, steaming cuppa joe, morning sun streaming through the trees...it's due to be in the low 70's today. Got my notepad, listening to some little yap dog and a flock of wild turkeys having an argument, sipping on a custom MM with a Ltd. Ed. Bing stem filled with Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture. Got my choice of Gentleman Jack, Maker's Mark or Buffalo Trace fer sippin' later. Brought a project to play with if I get antsy...just set up the handle of what's gonna be my magnum opus in steel - long and lean Lammie Nordic blade With a copper and Dessert Ironwood Burl handle...the butt of which is a pretty fair horse head carved in the Ironwood. She'll be sweet. But for now I gotta hott'n up my coffee and relax a little more. Just taking advantage of being a trophy husband along on a fat city corporate weekend is hard work, by golly. Carmel Valley Ranch, California. I recommend it!

Ahhhhhh! king

Back in the drizzle. Good memories. The owner always puts $150 on each shareholder's room (the weekend is for shareholders... ie. those with stock in the Co., which only certain people can buy). Most people use the funds to eat, drink and be merry. I'm WAY too cheap for that. A number of years ago I started using my fundage (50% of room total by agreement w wifey) in the pro shops at the various places we've gone and bought foolishly expensive shirts & jackets...often off the sale racks. This time I just got one 'Linksoul' polo shirt...mint green...tagged at $90 for 65% off...so thirty something courtesy of the company. My favorite number is a Tommy Bahama ivory silk shirt. Anyway, I'm getting a nice little resort collection which I wear lightly around home but always take along on these 'business' weekends. I'm carefull to buy only in a certain 'color palette' (grey/ivory & green/apricot...kind of) so things from year to year have a chance of going together. We get two or three of these a year to locations around the Bay area or Tahoe...don't take other vacations since our daughter is going to university...and these mini things are IMPORTANT to us! And I always get a chuckle out of the system even buying my wardrobe for 'em!

BTW: the new mint green polo looks DIVINE with my black canvas Carhartt carpenter cutoffs! Just add a wide western belt, heavy rag wool socks and North Face gore tex trail runners and I'm totally in the Oregon Chic Zone! LOL

Rob - I did that. This is far superior.

PD - And that's not all. He wears kilts! Think about it.  Suspect
