I'm heading off to the home of the Lakeland tobacco tomorrow; the English Lake District. It's a friend's stag do, so we're heading off for a weekend of mountain biking and climbing. Of course, I'll have my pipe with me and thought there's no better way to celebrate being in the Lakes than to pack a tin of SG's SL. Pics to follow if I'm organised enough!

Stick, the sentence " It's a friend's stag do, so we're heading off for a weekend of mountain biking and climbing" clearly demonstrates that my definition of "stag do" is wildly different from yours (and your friends)!!  Shocked
Unless, of course, Mountain Biking and Climbing are Real Ales I've not come across lol!

Ok, ok.  Fair one chaps.  I knew that would attract some flak!  Fact is, I've had my fair share of real benders and just can't do them anymore.  The morning after the night before and all that.   I much prefer a coffee and a chat now!  Crikey, I must be getting old(er)!

Sounds a jolly good time to me mate. Not a fan of the Lakeland 'baccy character at all, but the Lakeland district has beguiling charms. Been there myself I have, with me mates Ian and Doug. Did a bit of scrambling up over some peaks we did.

Well, I scrambled and struggled and they just ambled pleasantly along with not so much as a by-your-leave! Cheeky buggers an' all!

Lots of love for that area though mate. Wishing you a splendid time, and do grace us with some pics in due course. There's a good chap.

Cheers,

RR

Well folks, I have to say I failed to match the criteria outlined by Ron, but here's a few pics...

Topping out on the climb

A little detour on the way home to Kendal

Outside Sammy G's

[does anyone know why some of my images are on their side?  They are all edited and saved to be the correct orientation.  Any pointers?]

Excellent pics Brother. Normally, we'd forgive your indiscretion but I guess this time we'll forgive your discretion. Ps, all joking aside, I'd much prefer the tone of this outing than the alternative. Too much excitement stresses me out. I guess I shouldn't have been teasing at all. John.

Lol Michael. I must say it was a rather strange experience. I know it was a Sunday but it was like a morgue. I was expecting something a little more touristy where I'd see production, be able to handle the ' baccy  etc, but there was nothing but an old building with a sign hanging up above a door.  There was nothing there at all to suggest that this is the place where the baccy that so many of us love is produced. Not even a bar of soap Wink . Perhaps on a weekday it would be different? Any way, glad I went and was able to report back for the BoB.

Yes, I've tried rotating them so they appear in my album as if they're on their side. No luck. I'm wondering if there's some form of meta data tagged to the pic by my phone that draws upon the accelerometer and the orientation?

Hmm..tis a conundrum. Seems I've had a couple that just wouldn't rotate. Odd.

Lovely pics mate, looks as though you had a grand time.

I'd love to be able to enlarge them but can't find a way whilst clicking on the pics themselves.

And the one of you standing on the doorstep of Sammy G's may be about the last time one will get this distinction. You do know they are moving their operation the the G&H facility soon don't you?

Cheers,

RR
