I just got hit by some flak while on a mission! Pretty sure it was Wizard Fire. Great box including a hand carved pipe, home blended tobaccos, special Jerky, artwork, a number of well tanned pelts, amazing! I was last seen buzzing his digs in my crop duster and shaking my fist in his general direction while making some pretty specific threats, etc.

Indeed! I've got some here from Walnut, Olive, Maple, etc. They're different...but excellent smokers.

Even though the Wiz sent me a number of his fine blends I'm going to break in the pipe he sent (looks like Maple?) with some Semois. It's mild slightly floral quality is a good starter.

Really lookin' forward to this.

The material is a wood called Osage Orange. The indigenous people used the wood for peace pipes, bows, etc

Awesome wood. I use it for the handles of carving knives I make. Dense, hard, easy to work. One of my favorites. It's used in the West and MidWest for tool handles, hard posts, things that need considerable strength. I still have a couple pieces cut to knife handle config around here somewhere.

One of my favorite projects is to get a $20 Mora carving knife (great laminated steel blades) and pull the handle...then replace it with one made of Osage Orange.

Original with Birch handle shown below. Buy the whole knife or just the blade from Ragweed Forge:
