I had a sample at my B&M and can say it's a nice light Virginia Perique mixture as far as I can see. Definitely lighter than SJF and almost easier to work, IMHO. It comes a little drier than the other SG tobaccos and has a very nice grass/hay/sweetness to it, that is just slight the whole way through the smoke. I didn't get any tongue bite and found myself thinking how I could smoke it all day, if I did in fact smoke my pipe all day.

I prefer the deeper, darker flavors of SJF and FVF but I wouldn't complain if Cabbies was in my pipe right now. Desert Island smoke... not for me, but keep a tin once in a while. You bet.

Hope this helps a little, (I'm no Jim)

Nathan

To be fair, I was just starting to enjoy it when I came down with this allergy thing a month ago. It is a medium strength Gawith blend. Perique is not at the forefront. I was liking it.

Mixture's OK but the Uncut Rope is far better, no where near as moist and more flavoursome.

I don't think that even JimInks has tried this. lol!

BH, You just wanted a few "Everyman" reviews of the stuff, I get it. To let you know what's going on to the unsophisticated palate.

Well, that and to poke Jim with a dull stick.

I found Cabbies to be a little on the "meh" side. Perhaps a bit of ageing will help.

Cheers,
