Every once in a while I search through youtube to see if there are any old pipe tobacco commercials I haven't seen before -- hadn't seen this one for Condor, so I thought I'd share

Good stuff. Pity there aren't more of these in this day and age.

Thanks for sharing Doc!

Very Happy

Cheers,

RR

For some reason all my subscriptions and history disappeared from youtube tonight. scratch While trying to figure what happened (no idea) I came across a St Bruno ad I'd never seen before. . . .

SciFi fans may recognize the actress as Sandra Dickinson, who played Trillian in the tv version of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' in the 80s. (Also, her second husband was Peter Davison, the 5th Doctor and star of a number of other TV shows before and since. Their daughter, Georgia Moffet, played 'the Doctor's Daughter' in a 10th Doctor serial, and then later married the 10th Doctor, David Tennant)

Mostly cigarette ads, but 7 are either Edgeworth or are a combined Camel/Prince Albert ad

Great stuff Dr.T. I can remember commercials for ciggies and small cigars on the TV back in the 60's. Too many to count. Don't think I ever saw a commercial for pipe weed though.

Cheers,

RR

Funny, the first ad expresses my sentiments regarding loud ambient noises and piping also.
The two just don't pair well.

From what I hear, Condor can be one rough smoke for some?

It's on the strong side of medium (to me), and the topping is similar to some Lakelands YMMV

There is at least one each for Carter Hall, Royal Comfort, Captain Black (with Billy Martin), and Sir Walter Raleigh (with George Burns). Eva Gabor did one or two for Masterpiece; there are some for Borkum Riff, too.
