PostSubject: Savinelli Nonpareil question   Sat Sep 03, 2016 4:15 pm

Hi folks,

I've got a couple of Savinelli Nonpareil pipes to clean up, a 9904 and a 9907. Both feature the genuine horn shank extension, one has the original 2-dot stem.

The new Nonpareil's are fitted with an acrylic shank extension designed to mimic or at elast suggest the original horn. Anyone know when the switch was made?

My guess is that the two pipes I've got are circa mid-1980s, but I'm not 100% on that. If I can figure out when Savinelli switched from horn to acrylic extensions, I'll at least know the youngest they can be.

Thanks in advance.
