I had to stop on his pipe for a week due to the fact that I got about 16 or so coon and possum and a coyote pelts to tan out so I'll get back to it but after the pelts are in i can do more

Sorry T, my phone died, so I couldn't answer you back........

If you need advice on tanning hides, honestly, I'll bet Thistleoak has had more hands on experience than I. I haven't had the privilege of tanning possum.... I've only done a few coon skins, and those I salt and scrape and stretch according to an old Native American recipe.

They ain't no bunny fur peeling, that's for sure!

I'm about to get some coon done an then get a hat made then sell some of the furs I got left ill do a alum tan and salt forabout a week ya the possum Is like paper but any ways

The opossums around here tend to end up chew toys for my dogs, not much left for pies or hides afterwards...

So they are thin skinned? Sounds like my ex-wife............
