PostSubject: Lunch and cigars with WarlockBob   Sun Feb 05, 2017 11:56 am

Yesterday WarlockBob and I met up for an Asian deli lunch & store crawl through Uwajimaya (a huge destination level Asian grocery/department store) in Portland. Then off to a local cigar bar for a smoke and a pint. What a great time. So much to talk about...like meeting up with a good friend you hadn't seen in years. If you want to join us next time...let us know.

Cigar, pint and boy talk. Now that must have been good for the soul! Well done chaps! Wish I lived a little closer!

Well, if I was a bit healthier I sure would have traveled, use to meet up and stay a couple of days at a local hotel. Boy, I miss those days!! Being retired/disabled BITES!
Glad the two of you had a great time.

Well...I had a great time. Even though Bobby made me climb the "path of a thousand tears" to get there. Straight up the side of a ravine. Had to use ropes and crampons. And he's chattering away, tripping merrily from rock to mossy rock. While I stagger along gasping for each precious breath. Or, something like that. It's pretty clear that 25 doesn't have a very clear picture of 70.

Yeah. Uwajimaya is great. Their Seattle store is huge, and they have others in that area as well. Like Powell's Bookstore I count Portland very lucky to have it.

Ha! I figured it's best to get a little cardio in before smoking cigars. Have to offset it just a little bit. Razz

It was a wonderful time, filled with great conversation and great libations. Definitely look forward to the next time!

Fatman, it IS a fantastic market. It was the first time I had gone (though I had heard multiple people in my friend circles rave about it), and it did not disappoint at all. I think Blackhorse for the recommendation of grabbing lunch there. Will be going back in the very near future.

When I lived in Garden Home Uwajimaya was my place to shop for all the great live seafood and whatnots for making sushi. They even carry Uni. There was a small mall off of SE 82nd that had a great Asian market as well, but it was a shag from the West Side.

Glad to hear you guys had a great time, Portland has a lot to offer. Perhaps when I get out there again I'll see if y'all are up for some company!

And we'll make a 4-some in that case Ozzie. I'll drive down for that one, and no mistake!

Wink

Ocelot - Bobby told me you guys were long time buds...told me some really great stories about you. That thing with the sheep...Wow! You were lucky to get off with a misdemeanor for sure.

Anyway...good friends. Worth everything.

Hey now, who moved to Ohio first? Eh? tongue

We could split folks between BH's house and my house. I've got plenty of room, and even more tobacco. Very Happy

Hmpgh. Don't go makin' no plans fer my place. I got a full house as it is and a renovation project goin on. And I'm pretty sure that even though WBob claims lots of room and tobacco that his GFF would kick his generous butt from here to Sunday if he took on any of the likes of this crowd as boarders. Just guessing. I mean, that last shipment of goats pretty much filled up his den...and the ASPCA has already got his digs staked out. Suspect

I'm free and clear for now... You'd be surprised how quiet goats can be when hiding them under the stairs....

Well, it'll depend on price of airline tickets vs. Petrol ppg, and the thirst for adventure. It might be nice to roll by Crazy Horse though. Not to mention there are always gifts I have to bring. And a lot of good waters to fish along the way.
