Over the Christmas holidays I won an auction on a lot of 3 estate Peterson pipes - An Aran 80S, a Deluxe D2 and a Dublin D4. The D4 turned out to be hallmarked as a 1998, the same year my oldest was born. So I HAD to keep it..... right?!? Very Happy

Pic is a little over-exposed. The pipe is a lovely honey-gold colour with great cross grain and birdseye. The stem has lost its inlaid P logo, but otherwise the pipe is immaculate after a good clean and buff. I love the Volcano bowl on a rather Canadian oval stem.

By golly, that's a new Pete shape for the likes of my eyes. And one which I might add is rather fetching, including and especially the finish!

cheers

Cheers,

RR

According to my research, the D shapes came out in the 1990s and haven't been widely released. It makes them rare birds, especially in North America.

I'm currently working on the D2, which will go up for sale when I'm done. 😂
