PostSubject: Antique Store Score   Fri Mar 31, 2017 11:10 pm

Dropped into my local antique store today where I've previously bought a few pipes and ashtrays from and the gent behind the counter said "I've got some pipes for you".

He pulls out a Mercedes branded pipe that looks like a mini Kirsten and a no name half bent billiard which is pretty tall and narrow with some nice grain. He then pulls a Dunhill tamper/nail out as well which is in really good nic. I got the lot for 50$ Aussie.

Will post some pics once I'm done cleaning them up.

Cheers

Tim

The unknown pipe, which after cleaning turns out to be a Civic, London made special grain 012 shape.

After a good salt and alcohol treatment, there was a fair amount of elbow grease and pipe cleaners used to get them into shape. The Mercedes was easy enough to clean up being metal and washable but I'm sure the Civic had never met a pipe cleaner before, it was filthy.

They both smoke well, the stem on the Mercedes gets a bit warm if I get carried away and the Civic is quite thin walled so will be a Virginia pipe to force me to slooooow down.

Cheers all

Thanks everyone, I'm especially pleased with the Civic, it's an exceptional smoker. Having my second bowl out of it today.

Cheers
