This is a little more in depth than the thread title makes it seem.

What is your favorite mass-distributed beer?

What is your favorite beer?

What is your favorite style of beer?

Also, do you guys know where you can find local beers that are shipped nationwide, for instance, if a micro-brew in North Carolina only distributes in the southeast, is there a place to get it in the northwest? That may be a little extreme, but I think you can catch my drift.

If you home-brew, do you send out samples? Very Happy

Well Pipe,

I really don't have a favorite mass produced beer, they're a little thin and watered down for my taste.

My top three favorites are,
Brooklyn Chocolate stout
Victory Storm king
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA

My favorite style of beer would have to be Imperial Stout

Now I'm going to have to make a run to the store tomorrow....

Mass Produced would probably be Grain Belt, although it's not available through the entire US I would assume it could still be considered mass produced.

Favorite, I only get to pick one? Probably August Schell's Fire Brick

Favorite style is probably Oktoberfest/Marzen or some sort of Amber Lager

I have started to broaden my horizons however by starting this World Beer Tour.

What is your favorite mass-distributed beer? Guinness or Smithwicks

What is your favorite beer? Thomas Creek Red (micro-brewery in Greenville, SC)

What is your favorite style of beer? When I home brewed it was mostly German ales...altbier, weizenbier or Kölsch.

At one time there were several on-line distributors that offered samplers and "beers of the month" plans though I've never used them.

Mackeson's XXX Stout as my regular malt beverage.

Today I had the privilage to try a "Samichlaus". That is Austrian for Santa Claus. It is brewed by the Castle Brewery in Eggenberg, Austria. It is only brewed 1 day a year on December 6th every year. 14% alcohol content. The bottle reads "The World's Most Extraordinary Beverage" and I have to say that they are right. It is the most amazing malt beverage that I have ever tasted! I don't know if I could even describe it.

All interesting replies, PB, we need to broaden your view of the beer world, lol! . I'll have to get my hands on some of these. I haven't heard of most of the beers listed. Where can I find these? (online or store-wise).

Favorite mass produced...probably Sam Adams Boston Lager. I really like a hoppy flavor, and this one has it!

Favorite local brew: New Knoxville Brewing Company has a very nice IPA.

Favorite style? It varies with the mood, but I tend to enjoy the IPA's probably more than anything.

In the UK we are rather spoilt for choice, I prefer real ale to bottled beer when available.

This site gives an idea of what is on offer.

That is a very interesting website Peter!

Like real Ale that is one thing that I always like about my Dad's brew, you could see the live yeast settled in the bottom of the bottle. The longer he would let it sit in the cellar the more it fermented. He made an awesome stout and when he passed away there were about five cases down in the cellar that had been aging for who knows how long. Of course it is long gone and the recipe has gone to the grave. Brings back some fond memories though!
