I drive a Callaway Big Bertha 10 Degree with a Dynamic Gold Shaft and can hit it about 275 yards if I swing easy and hit it on the screws! Smile

Ha! A fellow Jag-ster. I have a 1998 XJR, a 390 hp gentlemenís' lounge that smells suspiciously like latakia--by far the best car I have owned, but it is dangerous in any sort of weather. It has never leaked a spot of oil, and even holds coolant...when it feels like it. I think it, like most predators, it feels the need to mark it's territory from time to time.

Ahh yes, the XJR is quite a beast. I had a '97, which was the last of the 'R's with the blown inline six from the early Aston DB7. Helluva car, sorry I sold it. Always intended to replace it with a '98-up 'R' with the blown V8 but you may or may not know, the early V8s had timing chain issues, so if you've never attended to yours, better have it checked out!

The car in the pic in my first post is an '85 Series III XJ6, which is my winter car. My summer hack is a Mercedes 560SEL and I also have a Citroen DS in the stable which comes out only on French holidays, lol.

Daily for me is a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer 4x4, but my real toy is in the garage: 2002 Subaru WRX 2.2L Stroked JDM motor with more parts being added from time to time. It is a long term project to turn it into a Time Trials car, but thats a ways off and I have to many expensive hobbies to feed. Gotta focus on one at a time.

Rick --

Cool car and scoot, but the jacket and Hush Puppies must go. Something more like this will complete your top shelf look:

The boots im wearing are just cheap boots...I do need to get new boots....Thanks for the links

I drive over 50 miles a day back-and-forth to work. Last year when gas went through the roof, I traded my '03 Lincoln Town Car (22 MPG) in for a new '08 Ford Focus (35 MPG). Once gas went back down some, a guy I work with asked me if I regretted making the trade....I told him I might regret it on a rare occasion, but every time I stop to buy gas it goes away pretty fast Very Happy

I also have a Buick LeSabre, and my two antiques....a "73 Ford LTD and a '62 Galaxy.

You Jag owners are making me jealous! When I was in high school, I had two dream cars: a 69 Jag E-Type, and any late 60's GTO. Never owned either one.

Later, I did get a chance to own another "dream car": an MGB.

Currently, I'm driving a 1990 F-150 with nearly 240k miles. AC doesn't work, the inside rear view mirror fell off and I have never bothered to glue it back, and thanks to parking it outside, the paint is oxidizing badly.

But it still chugs along. All in all, probably the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned.

Yeah, but somebody will probably still be driving that F150 in another hundred thousand. I've had 2 like yours (a '90 and a '95) and they were great! My '90 was a 6 cylinder, 4 speed, 4X4 that got absolutely terrible gas mileage, but gave me great service. I sold it to a guy who still drives it, and it has over 300,000 on it now.

Actually, I think I get the prize for worst MPG. I drive a Peterbilt Mixer truck for Cemex, they now come with automatic tranny's. 3-4 mpg.

Actually it's a company wide thing, not just California, and apparently Peterbilt was selling them as more economical due to less maintenance, no clutch, etc. Well, there's to 20% loss of MPG and the fact that any repairs now have to be sent out as the mechanics can't do anything with an auto like they could with a 9 speed Eaton Fuller. I'm surprised they didn't get a bridge in Brooklyn in the deal Laughing

PD & PB ---

I can trump you both for low mpg. Twisted Evil It doesn't count as the thread topic because I didn't own the truck like you guys do, just drove it, but it's outrageous enough to relate anyway: Less than 1.5 mpg. Laughing 151,000 lbs, 105 feet long, 40 wheels, 550 hp, and whatever the max torque Cummins offers, over, up, and around 62 miles of steep Wyoming foothills at 7000+ feet altitude. Used to carry something they called "scrubber water" or "mine water" in tanks from the mine to a coal powered electric plant that used the stuff as part of its smokestack filtration system.

OK, you win LL!!! Wow, that's huge!! I've been watching the giant Yukes (monster sized dump trucks) pulling rock out of a big Army corps of engineers job we're working on, makes my mixer look like a toy Laughing

BTW, I don't own it, I'm a union contract driver. Those mixers are well over $150K now, I'd never be able to afford that and don't like wrenching so I'd never buy a used truck. I like just driving it and parking it at the shop when something's wrong, then grabbing a different truck to drive til mine is fixed Laughing
