I'll Get that little Kid on the Bugs Bunny video you sent to Natch to Deal with You.
That was a good one. lol! lol! lol!

Come on Down to Ga. Let me know and maybe we can work something out where you won't have to make me smoke that much Walnut-- I have a sensitive system.
I'm still drunken from the Box Pass. Smoked a heck of lot in a short time.

Ed

The box arrived today. Some real goodies in there. There is also a bag in there with skull and crossbones on it marked TOXIC. Is this the famous Walnut that I have heard so much about and have been afraid to try? I might have to buy a throw away pipe and give it a go. Got to do everything at least once I suppose. I won't have the box long. I already see some stuff I want to trade for. Will post my put and takes and sampling notes in the next couple of days.

Yep. I survived the Walnut. Box is going out tomorrow. I've been working all weekend so I will post my report of samplings, puts and takes a little later tonight after I get some supper. I will also PM the next in line. This was fun.

Okay here we go.

Sampled:

Walnut Have to say I was a bit surprised by this one. When I opened the bag and sniffed it smelled like...well, walnuts. While it is smokeable when I want an OTC I think I am going to stay with Carter Hall or PA.

Westminster A solid English
2005 Christmas Cheer Good solid Virginia
Haunted Bookshop I really like this with the burley. TAD listed
Bufflehead My favorite sample (of course)

Takes
GLP Haddo's Delight
GLP Cumberland
Esoterica Penzance

Puts
Deattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding
Escudo
GLP Blackpoint
Sutcliffe Blend #5
1 box of IRC 3 Star Blue
Various samples of the John Patton Blends These were shipped to me by
John Patton and were a bit dry for my taste. John says this is intentional
and rehydrate by blowing into the pipe.

I enjoyed this box pass and appreciate all that participated and all the hard work that went into putting it together and keeping it rolling.

JP will PM you tomorrow after I deliver box to the Post Office.

Package mailed Monday. Confirmation number 0307 3330 0000 1148 3297. It's getting heavier. Postage was $15.70. I also threw a couple hundred dollars of insurance on it. The box is in good shape but I think it will be too full to use after a couple more passes. Very Happy

Seriously though..... And this is just my thoughts on the matter....

If everyone smokes a couple ounces of samples and puts in a couple ounces of samples, the samples will stay fresher.. They should change drastically from passer to passer.

If everyone Puts the same amount they Take from the tins the box won't grow to the point that its a burden to anyone...

Going through everthing now and having a very difficult time trying to make decisions other than the Plumb Pudding will not be in the box once it leaves Apex, NC! Very Happy I will attempt to get the barge on it's way tomrrow or Saturday. I was traveling yesterday and I was attending the Tea Party most of this evening. I am just now getting a chance to go through it. Awesome!

Tried my first sample today, though the tin was full the seal was broken and looked to have been opened, anyway, it was Treasures of Ireland Galway Black and Bright. Very good and I plan to trade it out for a sealed tin since it was full. Nice light flavorful smoke indeed!

But feel free to swap it out.

Folks, I am making not apologies, I didn't send the package out today. For the first time I am utilizing the alloted time and savoring the sampling. I have been alternating between "White Burley" Haunted Book Shop. Would someone please tell me the orgins of The sample bag labeled "White Burley"?

I know that Haunted Book Shop is a C&D blend that is available. Very good I might add, but I have got to be able to acquire some of this "White Burley" as it is OUTSTANDING! Please help me out here!

Looks like it may have been one of jeremy's adds. Never heard of Winther and I couldn't find any reference to it on TR.

Sorry guys ! Had a late night at work yesterday and was unable to get to a computer. I did ship it yesterday, # 0308 0660 0001 5510 3217. Postman says Ed should get it tomorrow. As for puts and takes, I sampled alot out of the box. I added some McC 2045 with about 6 or 7 yrs on it, some Greenfield and Winther White Burley that I found at an antique store. This stuff came out of an old cutter top tin unsure about the age, but I think it's some good stuff full of big ole crystals that are sweet as sugar. I also added part of a tin of Merde de Cheval. I traded a tin of Balkan Sasieni for a tin of SG Balkan Flake.

Thanks Ken! I will ask Grant about it. If I had a clue I would have asked him at the TAPS Show! I could see that being a good excuse to run down East! Grant lives here in NC just east of me.
