| I'm sure it's a long shot but I thought I'd post anyway. If anyone here gets a Google Wave invite and has one to spare I'd love to get one. If you don't know what it is it's worth checking out. I think it will be the next best thing in online communication. It's currently invite only (starting today) much like how they rolled out gmail. http://wave.google.com _________________ Jason

| I signed up too, lots of really cool new features. I have a friend who is generally up on the latest and greatest betas and whatnot, and occasionally works freelance for M$soft. I'll see if he can get me hooked up which I'll then (IF available) pass on. I was on the beta for gmail and as I recall we were given 5 invites, then 10 and upwards until it was released. _________________ I'm a jaded old Iso-Con, get over it!

| Sounds cool Kilted. From what I hear that's the plan with Wave as well, with the full release planned for early next year if all goes well. I'd like to be up on it by then as well as have our own internal server running the protocol if that develops along the same speed. _________________ Jason

| Oh and from what I can tell they are still rolling out invites so the initial release isn't done yet. I think I signed up the day it was announced but you know how the internets are... it only takes a few seconds for 100,000 people to sign up for something if it's popular. _________________ Jason

| I got my invite today but so far I'm not able to invite anybody else. As soon as I get some I should be able to pass them out to you guys. Haven't spent much time with it yet but over the next week or so I should have it pretty much down. _________________ Jason

| Well I know why they are calling it a preview and not beta! The basic structure works just fine and the communication structure is cool. It is missing many of the features demonstrated and little things are buggy like sometimes avatars show up and sometimes they don't. For any kind of collaborative communications though this is going to kick butt! Something as simple as arranging a lunch meeting with several people is handled so much more efficiently that it would be if you tried to coordinate it through email. Very cool stuff. Still no invites to give out though. _________________ Jason

| Thats cool... except thats not ezekial 25:17 "There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17: 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.' It isn't in Ezekiel or anywhere else in the bible. The last two lines of the quotation are similar to Ezekiel 25:17. Ezekiel 25:16-17"therefore thus says the Lord God, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the rest of the seacoast. I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful punishments. Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance on them." NRSV. The rest of the quote is taken from other bible passages ("brother's keeper" Gen 4:9) or made up completely.. Parts like "shepherding the weak" or "the finder of lost children," sound like they could have been bible but they aren't. _________________ The Word,The Liturgy, and Charity.
