how many rinse their razor in COLD water? I always do; I heard long ago that it will stay sharp longer than rinsing in hot water. What say you; old wive's tale?

For the life of a razor blade--i.e., a very thin piece of stainless or high-carbon steel--the difference between your hottest and coldest tap water isn't likely to make much of a molecular difference.
