PostSubject: Safety Razors   Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:56 pm

I find that many pipers have things in common. So, how many of us use a safety razor?
I use a Merkur Vision (I think) and am trying a new blade (need to check to see what it is).

I've been using a brush and soap for a while now. Actually trying out glyerin, and I like it so far.

I still use a Ralph Lauren pewter razor with Gillette Trac-II Plus cartridges, and my old Crabtree & Evelyn brush. It was their top-line badger when I bought it but it's about 35 years old; I probably need to think about replacing it soon. I also have one of their stoneware scuttles, but they have discontinued the sandalwood soap inserts, so I've retired it until I find replacement soap (anyone know of any that will fit?); I couldn't find any good soap in town so I'm currently using plain old Williams soap in a nice heavy coffee mug!

Caswell Massey shaving soap with warm water and their medium badger brush with a Merkur razor and blade. Was a nice relaxing shave before I went into work this morning.
