The Pitcher on the winning team throws a perfect game striking out every batter with a pitch count of 72.....

Every batter on the losing side leaves the game with the exact same batting average they entered the game with...

How could this happen?

It's the first game of the season.
(but 72 pitches only gets him through the eighth.)

Nice one, pb. I heard Ralph Kiner pose (and answer) this one during a Mets game earlier this season.

My Error: the home team doesn't bat in the 9th if they are ahead.....
I was trying to be tricky and force the issue of home/away... I messed up, regardless of 'side' the correct count would have to be 81... Or in other words my curve ball didn't curve.
