I was wondering when someone was going to mention this Very Happy

Seems our Boston brothers have fallen quite silent - oh 'bout 2 weeks ago when the Red Sox tanked it got real quiet real quick in here Laughing

But, and not to rub dirt in the eyes of my Yankee hating comrades from Beantown, yes, the New York Yankees are once again in the world series! cheers

I noticed the same thing.

I'm not a real big fan of either team but I've found myself pulling for the Phillies, they looked good in game one.
I (being southern born and raised) just can't seem to make myself pull for a team called 'Yankees', always want to add 'Damn' in front of it. lol!

You're not alone... some of us New Englanders take offense at New Yorkers calling themselves "Yankees" too.

Why'd they ever ditch the old name? 'Highlanders' was a damn cool team name.

Phillies are 11-1 @ home, phillies in 6, Ryan Howard hasn't hit as yet, Pedro was great last nite, it was great to see him "pitch", the stankees suck, Ken tongue

The Yankees don't seem to be doing much sucking Laughing

They had a hiccup in game 1, that's about it. They've not been tearing it up but they've been playing solid ball against a good Phillies club. It's kind of hard to fault either team for poor hitting when they're facing some of the best pitchers out there.

A little blurb I heard on the radio - Jeter has won more world series games than the entire Phillies organization has participated in Very Happy

I have to admit, them damn Yankees have looked really good the last three games. It's like the Phillies just can't quite keep up with them. The Yankees have so many good solid players while the Phillies have a few. Just wish I could stay awake through the whole game, they run too late here in the east! I'm usually zonked Sleep

by the 6th or 7th inning. Wake up after it's over Sad

Although I think the phills wear stripes now. No real horse in this race, although I will go out on a limb and predict Phillies in 7 w/ Ryan Howard leading the way!
