| the cat, but out of all the tobaccos discussed, reviewed, and hyped is there one that you feel deserves more attention. One you wish more people would try and find to be deserving of a place in their rotation. Maybe not an obscure or limited available weed, but one easily ordered from the internet by Joe Common, but overlooked for whatever reason. _________________ UDDER NONSENSE

| Mac Baren Club Blend and Dark Twist are both incredible, but you have to learn to smoke em. If you do.... heaven. And completely unique. British Woods by McClelland is a fine tobacco. Really a nice English, and no one ever mentions it. It's as good as anything and far better IMHO than any of the lamented dunhills. |

| Peterson's Irish Oak is surprisingly underrated, in my opinion. A very tasty blend, packs and lights easy... a medium bodied va/per/bur with a touch of cavendish. This mixture has depth and a decent amount of sophistication that makes it approach full bodied flavor. The nicotine content is higher than average -- just right if you ask me. No bite, and always delivers a cool and satisfying experience. This tobacco smells wonderful out of the tin (dark chocolate, with undertones of raisins and maybe almonds) and the room note is tolerable to pleasant -- depending on the judge, of course. Don't overlook this one if you haven't tried it! _________________ Many men fish their entire lives and never realize that it is not fish that they are after. -- Henry David Thoreau

| While I find that Irish Oak can drift to the cigarettish side, I did have a very enjoyable bowl the other night, and may have to return to it. FWIW I enjoy a lot of Peterson tobaccos. I like their aromatics, and Old Dublin is a keeper. The big flakes are too strong for me though. Make heap big sick. |

| I think P. Stokkebye- English Oriental Supreme is a bit underrated. I tried this in a bulk sampler and really enjoyed it. It's a nice mild morning smoke with a light sweet and spicy flavor. This blend requires little attention and since it's one dimensional some may find it boring, but I keep a few ounces on hand when I need a simple, mild smoke. _________________ "Getting old is like being increasingly penalized for a crime you never committed" Anthony Powell

| Living in rural Canada, with low cost medical care and high cost tobacco, I haven't tasted the spectrum of tobacco blends that many of you have. However I am amazed that I hear so much about S. Gawith's Squadron Leader, and nothing about S.G.'s Balkan Flake. I like S,L, okay, but love the Balkan Flake. (The tin art is nicer on Squadron Leader, but I don't usually smoke the tins.) And from Rattray's , am I the only one who like Highland Targe? I supposse it could be that its not widely distributed, at least I have never found it in a b&m when shopping in the states, or perhaps it is the larger tin that puts off people sampling the blend, but I found it a delight.
