For the others on this board who are aromatic smokers, I've found that if there's a ghost lurking in a pipe from a previously smoked aromatic tobacco (but also including Latakia and others), a few bowls of Lane's 1Q seems to do the trick in getting the pipe back to being "tasteless". If anyone has other suggestions, feel free to follow up to this.
I know 1Q is like the Miller High Life of tobaccos, but for me, it's my standby that I can most always find in most cities if I run out, so it qualifies as my "go to". However, I smoked a sampler of a cherry blend in one of my pipes and found it left a wicked ghost until a few smokes with 1Q and the pipe was back to being 'neutral'. I'm waiting for my tins of Dan Blue Note and Sweet Vanilla Honeydew to come in so I can test those out and I figure that if I hate them, 1Q will come to the rescue!
