So, I went backpacking a few weeks ago and left two pipes - one corncob and one briar - in a ziplock bag. They were quite wet going in. I forgot to remove them, and three weeks later, came across them.

Mold. Mold everywhere.

Should I toss them?

Can I possible save them?

I did clean them out thoroughly with some alcohol-based pipe sweetener and left them out to dry.

Whaddya think?

I'd definitely toss the cob. Someone out there does an ozone treatment on pipes that's supposed to clear out everything. Might want to look into that for the briar.

The cobs garbage... simply because 5-6 bucks aint worth the effort..
The briar can be cleaned. I don't know if it needs proffesional help or not, but I'm sure worse things have happened in the past.
